An icy end to the day today with wintery bird vibes. This evening a Bittern flew across Swineham GP towards the SW corner and yesterdays 3 Scaup were still in the Wareham Channel, but were seen to fly off west. This afternoon a whopping 897 sinensis Cormorant settled on the Brownsea Lagoon to rest up after a busy morning fishing. This is a huge number and well on teh way to building up to the magic 1000?! The White-tailed Eagle family were seen briefly in the Wareham Channel with the juvenile seen heading off high west along the River Frome. A single Black-necked Grebe was off Middle Beach, Studland.
