Harbour Update – 03/11/26

Another cold NE wind which resulted in some passage this morning just after sunrise with more Wood Pigeon moving, but once again, just as many seemed to be heading back north again after an initial push south suggesting there’s been some hesitancy in leaving. Over Lytchett Bay this morning 810 Redwing and 149 Fieldfare passed over. Holes Bay saw 5 Lapwing NW this morning, plus 676 Black-tailed Godwit, 173 Avocet, 128 Dunlin and a lone Knot plus 1213 Wigeon, 101 Pintail and 60 Shoveler across the bay. There was some minor sea passage too with 10 Common Scoter, 5 Wigeon, 1 Red-throated Diver and 1 Great Northern Diver all west out in Poole Bay. A White-tailed Eagle passed over Brownsea this morning.
