Harbour Update – posted 23/09/16

After a bit of a wait for several birders the Lesser Yellowlegs finally arrived onto Frenche’s Pools at Lytchett Fields today and was seen on and off throughout the day. Also present was a single Curlew Sandpiper, c80 Dunlin, 3 Green Sandpiper, 1 Ruff, 1 Sedge Warbler, 1 Reed Warbler, 1 Firecrest and a single Kingfisher. At Arne an Osprey was on the nesting platform with a fish, there were 2 Firecrest and a Spotted Flycatcher in the car park and 19 Black-tailed Godwit and 6 Bar-tailed Godwit from the Shipstal Hide. On the Brownsea Lagoon Spoonbill totals were at around 35 and there were 6 Curlew Sandpiper a Spotted Redshank and 4 Greenshank
