Harbour Update – posted 14/03/22

This is more like it. Some warmth on everyones faces! There was even a frustrating heat haze by mid day, reminiscent of a summers day….kind of. The warmth certainly got the raptors going with Buzzard seemingly displaying across the whole skyline out across the Wareham Channel and displaying Sparrowhawk over Arne and even some Marsh Harrier display too. At a private site this AM 3 ringtail Hen Harrier were logged leaving the harbour and the White-tailed Eagle was active around the Wareham Channel early morning. This evening 2 Bittern and a Great White Egret were at Swineham and there were 6 more Sand Martin over Swineham GP and a redhead Goosander was over Lytchett Bay this morning. The Cattle Egret was still in fields below the Worgret Manor, the Velvet Scoter was still out in central harbour and there were 5 Spoonbill off Shipstal. A Spotted Redshank was also at Lytchett Fields.
