Never let a bit of fog put you off! With what seemed like a total white out first thing soon turned into a blissful summers day with plenty to see. There are no less than 10 Osprey in the harbour currently with our family of 6 still about and no less than 4 un-ringed individuals dotted around. The current hot spots are from Rock Lera View, Lytchett Bay, Coombe Heath at RSPB Arne, and out in the Wareham Channel, with multiple sightings from each location throughout the day. The Brownsea Lagoon was busy and hosted 20 Spoonbill, c200 Dunlin, c40 Ringed Plover, 2 Avocet, a few Common Sandpiper, 6 Turnstone, 3 Greenshank and a spread of Common Redshank. At the top of the Wareham Channel there were 3 Spotted Redshank and 4 Greenshank, plus an adult Marsh Harrier. Out in the centre of the Wareham Channel there were the standard c500 Black-tailed Godwit but interestingly, also c230 moulting Mallard! A Cattle Egret was seen a bit later on the Stilt Pools, Swineham where there were also 2 moulting Shoveler.
