A bit of a grim day which put a dampener on our Ham Common Osprey Watch this morning, although 3 Osprey were still seen over RSPB Arne before the rain set in as well as 1 juvenile Peregrine hunting in the Wareham Channel and 15 Spoonbill. Over in Brands Bay on the early morning rising tide were 4 Teal, 2 Grey Plover, 3 Ringed Plover, 79 Curlew, 2 Whimbrel, 151 Black-tailed Godwit, 4 Bar-tailed Godwit, 89 Redshank, 5 Turnstone, 5 Dunlin, 92 Mediterranean Gull and 31 Common Gull. In Holes Bay, there were 4 Whimbrel, 1 Common Sandpiper, 310 Black-tailed Godwit, 186 Redshank, 12 Curlew and 7 Ringed Plover counted this morning.
At the time of writing there was no second fledge from the Poole Osprey nest today, but yesterdays…
