Some decent downpours today were much needed, whilst dropping several new Curlew Sandpiper into the harbour with 6 in Brands Bay, 2 in Lytchett Fields and 1 at Middlebere. Also at Lytchett Fields were 40+ Redshank, 1 Little Stint, 2 Spotted Redshank, 6 Common Sandpiper, 11 Greenshank, 7 Ringed Plover, 25 Dunlin, 3 Green Sandpiper, 2 Cattle Egret and c220 Teal. In Brands Bay there were 4 Brent Geese, 2 Pintail, 6 Wigeon, 125 Teal, 1 Osprey (same dead tree as yesterday), 1 Grey Plover, 2 Lapwing, 3 Knot, 15 Dunlin, 1 Turnstone, 11 Sanderling, 149 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Greenshank and c75 Redshank. There were only 11 Spoonbill on the Brownsea Lagoon today with the others likely hiding in Middlebere. Of note, in Holes Bay north there 108 Wigeon.
