It really felt like spring/summer had arrived today, with the first proper decent, warm (dare we say it…hot) day of the year! There were a few new birds in today, but not in great numbers. The springs first Roseate Tern was on the Brownsea Lagoon briefly this morning but soon disappeared. There were 7 Hobby hunting in a loose group along the Arne Road and the Bonaparte’s Gull was also in the Lower Piddle Valley this morning. At Lytchett Fields 2 unseasonal Crossbill flew over the viewpoints and an Osprey, thought to be 022, was fishing in the Wareham Channel. Finally, both White-tailed Eagles spent most of the day in and around the Wareham Channel area.
