It was pretty grim for three quarters of the day, but a late winter sun poked its head out briefly providing good viewing opportunities for those that were out. Highlights were 3 Great Northern Diver, 3 Common Scoter, 3 Scaup and 17 Red-breasted Merganser off Jerry’s Point. A male Merlin came into roost on the edge of Hartland on it’s favourite post near the entrance of Middlebere. In Holes Bay NW there were 120+ Avocet and 350+ Black-tailed Godwit.
