Things seemed a bit calmer/quieter today with only a few reports from around the harbour. Although it’s only August 1st there was another increase in Spoonbill today with 16 in the Middlebere Channel this evening, along with an un-ringed female Osprey, 1 Great White Egret and 1 Marsh Harrier also present. In Brands Bay waders were thin on the ground but there was a sum plum Grey Plover, along with 96 Black-tailed Godwit, 6 Whimbrel, 77 Curlew, 61 Redshank and 72 Med Gulls. The White-tailed Eagle pair were in the Wareham Channel, the Peregrine pair were on the Asda flats and at the Carey Secret Garden Ringing Station there was another good run of Sedge Warbler with 85 ringed, along with 7 more Grasshopper Warbler, 10 Reed Warbler and 14 each of Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff.
