There were some more Osprey records today, suggesting a few may be arriving now with an un-ringed adult in the dead trees at Morden Bog this morning and this afternoon one was fishing in Lytchett Bay, with other sightings coming from our Sunset Safari this evening with 1 hunting in the Wareham Channel, and 1 was seen over Middlebere. On the rising tide this evening from our cruise we had 3 Grey Plover, 6+ Greenshank, 1 Spotted Redshank, 40+ Dunlin, 8+ Common Sandpiper and loads of Curlew and Black-tailed Godwit, with decent views of Marsh Harrier. This morning there were 8 Spoonbill and a Great White Egret in Middlebere, a White-tailed Eagle caught a bird (un-known species) off Shipstal Beach, thankfully not the Forster’s Tern which was still pleasing small numbers of people on and off all day in the Shipstal Beach area. A number of Spotted Flycatcher families are being reported now, with fledging recently taking place at Wareham Common, Carey Secret Garden (2 families), RSPB Arne and the Frome Valley near Holme Lane GP.
