Harbour Update – 19/01/25

Despite the mizzle, there were birds to be found including the reappearance of some Tundra Bean Geese with 4 in the Lower Frome Valley along with 37 Russian White-fronted Geese just off the Wareham bypass causeway and the Glossy Ibis flock of 10 were seen just up river too. At the PCW Drain there were 22+ Common Chiffchaff with the 2 Siberian Chiffchaff and 2 Firecrest. The Red-necked Grebe was still off Jerry’s Point along with 2 Slavonian Grebe, 12 Black-necked Grebe and 7 Great Northern Diver. A drake Pochard was on Poole Park boating lake, both adult Peregrines were looking soggy on the Asda flats mid-morning and 8 Spoonbill were on Shipstal Point.
