Sadly, there was no sign of yesterdays Red-backed Shrike today which isn’t unusual…..nearly all Poole Harbour Red-backed Shrike records have been just 1 day birds. Still, not all was lost, as a third Spoonbill arrived onto Brownsea today! Plus, the Red-breasted Merganser was also still on the lagoon, there were up to 2 Osprey in Middlebere and the Wareham Channel at different times during the day, and adult male White-tailed Eagle G463 was over Middlebere. A Great White Egret was on Swineham Point this evening and Nightjar was singing in Upton CP again.
