Harbour Update – 07/04/25

It’s always worth checking all these Red Kite that have been passing through, with a probable Black Kite that was seen over Hartland Moor this morning. A stunning pair of staging Eider were in Bramble Bush Bay this morning along with 1 male Common Scoter. A late Merlin was on a post along the Middlebere track. The first Sedge Warbler in the harbourĀ  was singing at Swineham Gravel Pit today along with a couple of Reed Warbler. The Pink-footed Goose was still feeding at the back of the Swineham Point salt marsh with Canada Geese. 3 Little Ringed Plovers were still present at Swineham along with 1 Green Sandpiper and a single singing Willow Warbler. More arrivals of Common Whitethroat with a second reported in Lytchett Bay today. Quite a few more of the juvenile White-tailed Eagles have moved back into the harbour area with a couple of individuals spotted in the Wareham Channel today.
