With the first set of northerlies for October kicking in last night, there was hope for some new arrivals…..winter thrushes? Vagrant warblers from the east. Alas, the best that could be mustered was a lone male Ring Ouzel up on Ballard Down this morning and a small smattering of Song Thrush and Blackbird. There were also 2 Common Whitethroat, 20 Stonechat, 30+ Common Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcap, 300+ Swallow and 40+ House Martin. The Brownsea Lagoon had 78 Spoonbill with 1 at Holes Bay, 19 Cattle Egret were at Bog Lane with 1 Great White Egret.
