With the sun finally deciding to hide behind some cloud today, it was a slightly chillier (and more typical?) April day. That said, once again there was more great birds to be had, and included the Forster’s Tern being seen on the Brownsea Lagoon again this morning amongst c70 Sandwich Tern and 5 Common Tern. The Pink-footed Goose was still at Swineham Point, grazing with Canada and Greylag Geese. We noticed it had a bit of a limp today, which may be a cause for it’s long stay? On Shipstal 4 Spoonbill were roosting with another off the South shore. Male White-tailed Eagle G463 was in the Wareham Channel as were 4 Marsh Harrier. A single lone (late) Red-breasted Merganser was out in central harbour. The Brownsea Lagoon held 14 Avocet, 5 Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Greenshank, c40 Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Turnstone and a small spread of Gadwall and Shoveler Duck. There were 2 Ring Ouzel in central Hartland Moor, an un-ringed Osprey was in Middlebere with another (or the same?) in Lytchett Bay. There were 2 Red Kite over Swineham.
