Exclusive Birds of Poole Harbour Osprey Bird Boat

Our trip on 23rd August sold out within 24 hours so we thought it only fair to put on another boat for those who missed out.  We are now able to do another trip which will be at 10am on Friday  25th August 2017.  Get your tickets quick !  We look forward to seeing you on board.

This summer ‘Birds of Poole Harbour’ began a five-year Osprey translocation project here in Dorset with our partners The Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation and Wildlife Windows. To celebrate the release of the chicks into Poole Harbour, we’re putting on an exclusive one-off Wareham Channel Osprey cruise to talk about this exciting new project and to hopefully see these magnificent birds soaring over Poole Harbour skies. With the chicks having been released in early August from a confidential site within the harbour, they will soon be finding their way around, exploring the many creeks and estuaries mapping out and imprinting on the local area before they too head off south for the winter.

Join the team responsible for carrying out the project as they talk through the processes and objectives of the scheme whilst keeping a beady eye out for the harbours newest additions. Late August is also the busiest time for migrating Osprey to pass through Poole Harbour as they head south for the winter, so we’ll be visiting several productive areas in the hope of catching sight of these large magnificent birds of prey. The team will also be discussing their broader work within Poole Harbour whilst highlighting other important species to look out for.
