Since 2012 we’ve been building up our charities presence and helping to promote Poole Harbour as a unique and special place to monitor and record birds. The harbour has a number of key conservation focuses that we like to work into our charity ethos as well as working on our own people engagement projects.  In the first few years of operating we have seen funds raised through our popular monthly field trips, busy bird boat schedule, our hugely successful Dorset Discovery Wildlife tours, kindly donated grants and of course through public donations. Money raised has been invested in numerous projects around the harbour benefitting both birds and people.

These projects include our landmark Osprey translocation project, our Poole Harbour cruises for up to 1500 local school children via our School Bird Boat project, the creation of wader scrapes and viewing infrastructure at sites like Lytchett Fields and Holton Lee, installation of 24 hour a day webcams on the Brownsea Lagoon, installation of Barn Owl boxes around the harbour, extensive surveys and on-going monitoring of key species within the harbour, plus a whole lot more!

It’s our mission to ensure Poole Harbour remains an important natural resource when learning about the areas rich and varied bird life, as well as continuing to provide new site information and infrastructure for residents and tourists with a natural history interest. This is only possible with your support. A donation via our website will allow us to continue to invest in Poole Harbour conservation and birding projects as well as providing an opportunity to educate and inspire the next generation.
